Elise felt horrible. There was no denying it.
She got out of her car and slipped her sunglasses on, putting her hands into her coat, thanking the Lord that it was fall and she was able to get away with layering clothes. She kept her head down, hoping her foundation and her sunglasses had hidden the evidence of a sleepless night, she had been up till the early hours doing paperwork and then was awoken early in the morning with the sickness, she sighed as she hit the button for the elevator, 'The book' safetly in her bag that was currently sitting on her shoulder, she looked up as the elevator doors opened and she headed inside, hitting the button for the 15th floor, standing back and placing her hand on the railing, taking a deep breath as another wave of sickness came over her, she shut her eyes for a few moments but opened them the moment she heard the doors opened and she snapped back into 'The Boss' mode, pushing the sickness to the back of her mind as she walked out of the elevator, quickly greeted by her assistant who she quickly handed the book over to.
She headed through the office, keeping her hands in her pockets as she walked into her office, pushing the doors opened and shutting them behind her, she walked over to her desk and took her coat off, placing it on the coat hangers on the wall, putting her bag down on the chair behind her desk before rounding her desk and heading over to the curtains, pulling them over, something she often did when she wanted to hide away from the others and relax, or if Nicholas was visiting. She sat down on the chaise lounge, crossing her ankles and resting her hands on her stomach, shutting her eyes, wanting to catch up on her sleep, she probably would have though, if her assistant hadn't walked in the moment she had fell into a peaceful sleep. "Elise" Her assistant said, touching her shoulder, Elise jumped slightly and looked up, she sighed "Yes?" She asked, sitting up on the chaise lounge, her long brown hair falling around her shoulders. "Your husband sent this in for you" The other woman said, holding up the white bag from Elise's favourite cafe, she couldn't help but smile softly "Thank you" She said to the girl. "Can you check that all my meetings are still on today?" She asked, getting up from the chaise lounge and taking the bag "And tell everyone in the closet that I'll be coming around at noon to do a check for the next shoot, and phone Donna, tell her we'll need all the ten dresses for the cover shoot, then phone my husband and tell him I said thank you" She told her assistant, who quickly wrote everything into a small black book before leaving in a hurry to get her jobs done.
She waited until her assistant left before she headed over to her desk, picking her bag up and placing it down against the drawers of her desk, placing the paperbag next to her iMac as she turned the screen on and opened her work emails, she looked in the paperbag and took out the bottle of water, the breakfast muffin and the small bag of chocolates, she had to smile once more when she read the note, she would thank him when she saw him that evening, she opened the bottle of water and took a long sip before she started to eat her muffin, careful not to put crumbs on her desk as she opened the drawer and placed the bag of chocolates in, shutting it before turning back to her computer and working away on it, her fingers typing madly on the keyboard as she slowly chewed her muffin, taking the odd sip of water every now and again, looking through the photos from the photoshoot the day before, she sighed as she moved to her bag and took out her phone and ipad, placing them both on the desk and turning her phone on, she always turned it off during her 'at home' hours, she placed it on silent as her personal emails came flooding in before turning her iPad on and checking the magazines website, just a daily thing she did, making sure everything looked good.
She played on her iPad for a while, half answering emails on both her iPhone and iMac, while looking through the latest collections from designers, she had a gala to go to soon, she'd have to find something to wear, and everyone in the 'closet' would be rushed off their feet, so it was just incase none of them would be able to dress her for it, she sighed to herself as she shut her iPad off and placed it back in her bag, looking up as her assistant walked in and told her everything she had to do for the day, she could have banged her head against a brick wall, she sighed and nodded, dismissing the girl as she turned back to the computer and started to write up a few emails, quickly sending them, before dealing with a few phone calls, soon getting them finished with, now she just had to worry about her meetings and going into the closet, she just prayed that they hadn't sprayed any of that horrible perfume, that for sure would bring her sickness back in a flash.
